Heinz Lehmann Award

Dr. Thérèse Di Paolo (Centre de Recherches en Endocrinologie Moleculaire, Laval University, Ste-Foy, Que.) is the recipient of the 2003 CCNP Heinz Lehmann Award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding research achievements by Canadian scientists in the field of neuropsychopharmacology. The award, donated by Eli Lilly Canada Inc., consists of a $5000 research prize, a $2000 travel award for the recipient to attend the CCNP Annual Meeting and an engraved plaque. Congratulations to Dr. Di Paolo!

Presentation: Hormonal modulation and protection of brain neurotransmission: potential therapeutic application for schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease

CCNP Medal

Dr. Simon N. Young (Department of Psychiatry, McGill University, Montréal, Que.) is the recipient of the 2003 CCNP Medal. The award, donated by the CCNP, consists of a bronze engraved medal and is designed to honour individuals for a meritorious career in, and outstanding contribution to, neuropsychopharmacology in Canada. Congratulations to Dr. Young!

Young Investigator Award

Dr. Gustavo Turecki (Department of Psychiatry, McGill University, and the Douglas Hospital Research Centre, Montréal, Que.) is the recipient of the 2003 CCNP Young Investigator Award. The award, donated by Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Ltd., consists of a $2500 bursary plus a $2000 research grant and an engraved plaque. Congratulations to Dr. Turecki!

Presentation: Clinical and genetic studies of suicide and related behaviours

Jock Cleghorn Prize

Mr. Ying-Shan Han ((Department of Psychiatry, McGill University, and the Douglas Hospital Research Centre, Montréal, Que.) is the recipient of the 2003 CCNP Jock Cleghorn Prize. This award is designed to recognize the best poster presentation by a research trainee at the Annual Meeting of the CCNP. The award, donated by the CCNP, consists of $500. Congratulations to Mr. Han!
