Methodological problems in treatment resistant depression research

Psychopharmacol Bull. 1990;26(4):461-4.

Abstract

To better understand why treatment resistant depression (TRD) has been resistant to systematic study, the author analyzes methodologic problems facing TRD researchers with a focus on the difficulty of defining TRD. Then approaches for clinicians to interpret limited and potentially biased TRD data are suggested.
